National Society United States Daughters of 1812

We always enjoy working with nonprofits to create a website that serves the functions of the organization while looking beautiful and professional. This project proved no exception and involved creating two separate websites, one for the public and one for the membership.
Three key features of the public facing website that were the most fun to create were:
- The Home page where we wanted to use images to display the rich history of the organization;
- A War of 1812 timeline where we wanted to integrate pictures and text; and,
- Access to the Society’s Ancestor Database which we moved to google’s Airtable platform.
Below is the Before & After Home page from the Society’s website.

Working with historical societies provides fun content for timelines. Here’s a War of 1812 Timeline that Small Bytes put together for the US Daughters 1812. Design features such as this provide quick visuals for users. Creating a good user experience is key to getting users to return to your site over and over again.
